    Hello,

I'm a Belgian law student and I'm currently writing a paper in which I compare the regulation to get a driving license in several European countries.

Can anyone help me to understand the bigger picture of the German system?
I speak Dutch, so I understand parts of the website, but it's not enough.

So: From what I understand: at 16,5 years you can start in a "fahrschule". If you obtain your license before the age of 18, you can only drive accompanied with an adult of 30.
Is this the only way to get a license?
I mean: are the lessons obligatory? If so, what is the minimum duration?

And if you go & do your practical exam: can you only do this with a car from the fahrschule? Or also with you own car, accompanied by a parent,...

    Thank you!

    Julie

ähm, the last that i here is, you need somebody who dives longer time. It can't be anybody, who still in the probation is. And you have to register them. and it can't be anybody who do terrible things off road

    >>Is this the only way to get a license?
    >Yes

Nope. You can make the driving license with 18, then you didn't need enybody who sit in the car after you had a driving license.

I don't think so, in Germany, the schoolcars have double Pedal. the three on the student side, and three on the Teacher side. And in Germany only Driving Teachers be allowed to give you lessons.

But you can make your motorcycle license on your own bike (inadvisable)
then you need a driving teacher, too.

And you can make your license for a small mopet at a regular school.

I'm so sorry about my bad engish.

    >>Thank you!

    You are welcome.
